ezmlm is a mailing list manager, similar to majordomo or listserv. Normally, we generally recommend using ezmlm-idx, a greatly enhanced version. It supports all of the normal mailing list functions such as allowing users to subscribe, allowing moderator approvals, downloading history of messages, retrieving ranges of messages, archives, etc. It is a fully functional mailing list manager. ezmlm uses the command line to do many maintenance functions, though there are some GUIs available such as ezmlm-web. It does support SQL databases for some functions such as user lists.
ezmlm is designed to work with Qmail, and only Qmail. It is a good product, we have run many mailing lists for various companies using ezmlm-idx. We used it in our own companies for many years, until we sold that company off.
