Contest!
Thanks to all those who entered our contest! It was a stunning success with far more entries than we ever imagined. We are busy sorting and rating the suggested names and will post the results when they are known. It’s going to be a difficult task...
We have tallied up the submissions. Thus far, we know that we have a total of 410 names! That’s way more than we thought we would get, and very encouraging. So, one of those will be the winner. Our first step is to go through the names, and, eliminate those that are invalid names or somehow not possible to use. After that, we pass the names on for a first pass of names they do not like. This leaves a smaller number of names, which can then be sorted through and ranked. Finally, a final decision can be made.
MARCH 19 2009 UPDATE - The list has been narrowed down to the final 9. We hope to have more information soon.
MARCH 21 2009 - WINNER - The winning domain name, onlineconsumerstore.com, was submitted by David Schloss of Florida. It was the only name he submitted. We had many people submitting multiple names, and, no duplicates amazingly. One person had 5 of the top 15 names.
As noted previously, the general rules of the contest were as follows:
- The winner will get a minimum of $100 from us.
- No more submissions are allowed after Feb 28 2009.
- The winner will be contacted, and paid by March 31 2009.
- The person winning will also get a free web link from us in our directory if they wish, though we will not link to questionable or x rated sites.
- It can be an existing domain that you are selling or own as long as the domain has history, is relevant, and has not be dropped. In the case of an existing domain, we will pay $100 over the value.
- Throw in a good slogan that complements the name and we will add an additional $25 to the payment to you if you win and they use your slogan.
